Information Management (IM): Plan, design, and implement solutions that deliver and analyze information efficiently for competitive advantage
An ATG technical lead will be the key person responsible for the overall technical architecture of delivering an ATG eCommerce system. This will include providing technical guidance with the ATG application design and architecture, integration design and architecture, and enforce technical standards. The ATG technical lead will work closely with the business team/users and the overall program management team.
Essential Functions of eCommerce / ATG Technical Lead:
* An ATG technical lead will manage and deliver components of client engagements that identify, design, and implement technology and creative business solutions for large companies.
* Responsibilities include, among others, transforming business requirements and functional design into technical solutions that will meet the needs of the business
* An ATG technical architect will be responsible for providing overall technical architecture guidance and leading teams through detailed technical design and development in a full-scale implementation.
* An ATG technical architect will build upon web applications based on ATG application server, content management personalization engine, and ATG commerce platform with custom code.
* An ATG technical architect will develop and document customizations to meet the client's requirements including system design, database changes, screen changes, security definition, workflow flowcharts, and custom documentation.
* A key understanding of several core technologies like Java, J2EE, EJB, JSP, Oracle, SQL, HTML, and XML is essential.
* Suggest innovative solutions to business problems/processes that leverage technology to provide marketing differentiation, efficiency improvements, and better user experiences.
* Perform Design reviews with ecommerce development teams onshore and offshore.
* Contribute to deployment strategies with deployment engineers .
eCommerce / ATG Technical Leads are required to have:
* 6+ years of relevant technology consulting or industry experience
* Bachelors Degree or 4 years equivalent professional experience
* Willingness to travel to client locations (80%)
* ATG vendor training, ATG-certified preferred
* 3+ years leading ATG eCommerce technical designs and implementation for eCommerce customer and internally facing solutions (B2B, B2C, B2E)
* 2+ years experience managing and/or leading teams, including client and consulting staff
* Experience conceptualizing, designing, and building industry based ATG's product suite
* Ability to lead and manage ATG technical design and implementation services
In addition, successful eCommerce / ATG Technical Leads will also have the following preferred skills:
* Content Management design and implementation experience
* Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies (RUP, Agile, CMMI, other)
* Strong business process knowledge, specifically pricing, order management, eCommerce, availability, settlement, customer service, account management, and fulfillment
* Ability to engage and manage mid-level client relationships (manager and senior manager level)
* Leadership in the design and implementation of OO and MVC based solutions
* J2EE and Java experience
* Other eBusiness applications a plus (BEA, IBM Websphere Commerce, ATG, Sterling Commerce, Comergent, BlueMartini, Escalate Retail, Oracle , SAP, other..)
* Middleware application (BEA, IBM, webMethods, Tibco, Vitria, SeeBeyond, other..)
* SDLC methodologies (RUP, Agile, CMMI, other) and tools associated with building customer facing eBusiness solutions
* Experience with implementation of SOA and MVC design patterns
* Experience with full lifecycle application testing (functional, regression, performance , integration, etc..)
* Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Visio, MS PowerPoint)
* Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment
* Eagerness to mentor junior staff
* An advanced degree in the area of specialization
